For Sale: 1959 Oldsmobile Dynamic 88 in Salem, Massachusetts for sale in Salem, MA
Vehicle Description This 59 Oldsmobile spent the first 60 years of its life all with one family in Thompson North Dakota.
The frame and body are rust free as it was well cared for and that region of country uses no salt on roads.
The 371 cc V8 was a large engine for its day and paired with a four speed automatic transmission it commands the road with plenty of power with style.
I purchased the vehicle about a year ago and have invested more that $4,000 into it including new exhaust manifolds and new pipes and stainless muffler.
I replaced the front wheel cylinders and bleed both rear and front brakes.
Replaced power steering hose.
Converted the AC to 134 A and recharged the system - blows cold air now.
I repaired all dash lights and backup lights and neutral safety switch.
Also replaced the heater core so now heats works perfectly well.
After all that the car runs well and is a great example of the unique style of the late 50s.
The body and paint are in very good condition with only a few minor area of imperfection.
One small area in the lower rocker panel on drivers side has some small imperfections.
The special features of the vehicle are the full amazing bubble top glass which allows for maximum scenic viewing while you are cruising the countryside.
Another fantastic feature is the color changing speedometer on the dashgreen below 30 mph then orange until 60 mph and the red over 65 mph.
A very cool feature that was repaired several relays ago at a cost of more than $500.
I have maintenance receipts going back over several rears.
It does appear that the engine did receive an overhaul sometime in the early 90s.
The photos show very consistent gaps in doors and trunks and hood lines.
As the undercarriage photos show very little rust if any it's just surface rust.
I believe the vehicle was garaged regularly and North Dakota roads are good to classics.
Why am I selling? I found a better one Red and White with less miles and a superior enginea 398 cc Rocket.
This vehicle has been well maintained and will certainly be a one of a kind at your local cruise night! I have only seen two of these the ones I own.
I included a few photos of my twin 59 Oldsmobiles! A rare sight.
Happy to provide more photos.
Must have a good size garageit's a full size vehicle.
This is a special classic which gets plenty of thumps ups!.
