With a growing portfolio on the North Shore of Boston, and Metrowest, we are seeking a Hotel Operations Intern at The Coach House, located in Salem, Massachusetts.
The Coach House, a newly renovated, eleven unit boutique hotel sits less than a mile from downtown Salem.
The 5,942 square foot estate carries a new sense of wonderment with its edgy updates throughout, while still embodying the sophistication of its prior historical and structural design.
The original owner of The Coach House was local sea captain, Ephraim Augustus Emerton.
The property was built in 1879 with the utmost Victorian elegance in mind and future promise in hospitality, as the property would later be converted to an Inn in the 1950's for over a 60-year span.
With the change in hands in 2022, a vision was formed to recreate the inn to a virtual boutique hotel, and a new-found experience for all guests.
With the new ownership of The Coach House, an extensive renovation had taken place to help fulfill our hospitality goal of preserving the essence of the estate's history, while incorporating modern amenities, contemporary design, and most importantly, comfort.
This property is unique as we rely on advanced hospitality technology to serve our guests, in providing an upscale and unique experience.
Start date for this position will begin by the end of Q2, beginning of Q3.
The successful candidate will have a strong desire to learn and grow within the hospitality industry.
Duties/
Responsibilities:
Work closely and under the supervision of the General Manager Provide superior assistance to all guests of The Coach House Coordinate and communicate with our set contractors for routine maintenance or damages Responsible for checking inventory and re-ordering Assist in overseeing housekeeping management Ensure guest add-on packages are executed prior to guest arrival Will be trained in using our PMS (Property Management System) as well as various tech platforms that are used Expect 40 hours per week On-call for some weekends and evenings (not all) Required Skills/Abilities:
Excellent communication and customer service skills A passion for providing superior hospitality services Strong problem-solving and organizational skills Ability to work independently and as part of a team Ability to multitask and handle multiple projects simultaneously Willingness to work with our other hospitality properties that are in the pipeline Education and
Experience:
Previous experience working in hospitality is preferred Possess or are working towards a Bachelor's Degree in Hotel Management, Hospitality, or a related field Working knowledge of hotel operations, including front desk and housekeeping Physical Requirements:
Must be able to commute to Salem, Massachusetts each day of work or when on-call We encourage you to follow Sullivan Capital and The Coach House on social media in the meantime.
